  • 1. CLEAN

    Pop your cup in your Steriliser Case face down. Add in a bit of water and microwave for 1 min. Allow it to cool. Wash your hands & relax, you’ve got this!

  • 2. FOLD

    The C-fold is popular but there are heaps of other techniques. Squeeze the sides together making the cup flat, then fold it again making a C shape.

  • 4. INSERT & SECURE

    Hold the bottom of the cup and gently insert it into the vagina. Once fully inserted let go and a seal will be created as it pops open. You can also grab the stem and pull gently.

  • 5. REMOVE

    Pinch the base of the cup with your forefinger and thumb to release the seal. Gently remove it & empty into the toilet. Rinse with water & re-insert or sterilise & store.

WHAT IS THE POM PERIOD CUP?

The POM period cup (also known as a menstrual cup) is a period product that is made from 100% medical-grade silicone and sits within the vaginal canal collecting menstrual blood rather than absorbing it. It’s flexible and foldable so it can be easily inserted into the vagina. The POM period cup can be worn for 12 hours and hold up to 3 tampons worth of blood; keeping you comfortable and leak-free all day or night.

Small - can hold 23 mls / 4.5 regular tampons / 2 super tampons

HOW DO I EMPTY IT IN A PUBLIC BATHROOM?

It’s pretty simple: Just release the seal of the cup by pinching the side with your forefinger and thumb, then gently remove the cup and tip it into the toilet. 

We then suggest keeping a bottle of water with you and giving it a little rinse out before reinserting. Make sure to check the holes on the side of the cup are clean to help with the seal. 

If you have access to a sink you can also rinse it out there and use some mild soap. 

HOW SHOULD I CLEAN IT?

Before you use your POM period cup, you can sterilise it with the POM steriliser case. Just pop the cup in the case facing down, with a bit of water in the bottom and microwave for 1 minute. Remember to wait a bit for it to cool down before handling. 

If you are out and about you can clean your cup by tipping the blood into the toilet and either rinsing it out with water from a bottle. Or if you have access to a sink you can rinse it out there using some mild soap. 

Make sure to check the holes on the side of the cup are clean to help with the seal. 

POM recommendation: empty your cup while in the shower for easy removal and cleaning, then sterilise it before popping it in again for that day or night. xx

CAN A PERIOD CUP GET LOST?

Nope, don’t worry, your POM period cup isn’t going to get lost. If it does move up higher in the vagina you can use your pelvic muscles to push it down lower. You can also squat to help with this and let gravity do its thing.

IS THE CUP SAFE?

It is indeed! Our period cup is made from 100% medical-grade silicone, it’s free from plastic, BPA, rubber and latex. 

To stay as safe as possible please wash your hands before inserting the cup and use a clean cup!
